Bright, expressive, textural painting on wood. 16″x20″. “White Room Series, Winter Beach”, acrylic on cradled panel. A lovely painting to accent minimalist, contemporary and Mid-Century Modern inspired decor. It draws viewers below the surface and mimics the act of watching fish and slip through ice, snow and water.
Some photos listed here are of the painting in process in my Paonia, Colorado studio or of the surface detail. I start with a brightly painted surface and then distress it with sandpaper before adding the smooth top layer and more texture. It is finished with another round of sanding from very fine paper to give its surface a creamy texture.
