Rock Wall Step

Rich, deep, vibrant colors and expressive lines define this abstract painting on heavy, linen-textured paper. I’ve included a couple of photos of this painting in process in my Paonia, Colorado home studio. Scroll through the photos to see the expressive layering and texture. I typically pull my abstract color palettes from 1950’s interior design color swatches and then put my own spin on them so that the resulting artwork accents mid-century modern and contemporary decor. I’ve included photos of this painting in sample rooms and frames to help you envision it in your space. It is framed in a black, contemporary frame.

“Rock Wall Step” depicts an abstract human form stepping over a rock wall, as its title implies. The head is the turquoise section at the top, with a sneaky round face, facing the viewer (dark circle). The figure has a tiny torso and long, thin legs. The triangle on the bottom right is actually fashion – the big, bell bottom of some flashy red pants.
